About: Tim Williams aka Optimist

Tim Williams is a SF/Bay Area raised and based painter and graffiti artist, he has used his extensive travel for the past 20 years to influence his art and story.

His graffiti background, a love for comics & illustration as a whole as well as a habit of collecting the small day-to-day objects of life add to his multi-layered work.

Timothy "Optimist" Williams has been a fixture of Bay Area art and graffiti culture for almost two decades, and the press has taken notice.

His work has been featured in Juxtapoz, The Hundreds, East Bay Express, San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Daily Californian, The Citrus Report, Belle SF Magazine, and Plastic Water.

With coverage spanning gallery shows from San Francisco to Taipei. Most recently, 48 Hills profiled his 2021 exhibition Ticket to Ride, an homage to MUNI memories and Frisco legends.
